Angela Peñaredondo is a queer Filipinx interdisciplinary writer and educator. Peñaredondo is the author of nature felt but never apprehended (Noemi Press), All Things Lose Thousands of Times (Inlandia Institute, Winner of Hillary Gravendyk Prize) and Maroon (Jamii Publications). Their work has appeared in The Academy of American Poets, Pleiades Magazine, Michigan Quarterly Review, and elsewhere. They live in the San Gabriel Valley with their partner and many cramped but delighted plants.
Gabrielle Korn is the author of the essay collection Everybody (Else) Is Perfect, the queer dystopian novel Yours for the Taking, and its forthcoming sequel, The Shutouts, which comes out on December 3 from St. Martin's Press. She's the former Editor-in-Chief of Nylon, and her writing can be found in Literary Hub, The Millions, Oprah Magazine, Instyle, Domino, Refinery29, and more, as well as the recent anthology Sluts, edited by Michelle Tea. Originally from New York, she now lives in Los Angeles with her wife, and together they run The Pink Door artist and writer residency.
Catherine Theis is the author of the poetry collection The Fraud of Good Sleep and the play MEDEA. Slashing Sounds, her translation of the Italian poet Jolanda Insana, is forthcoming October 2024 from the University of Chicago Press’ Phoenix Poets series. She teaches at the University of Southern California.
Katya Apekina is a novelist, screenwriter, and translator. Her debut novel, The Deeper the Water the Uglier the Fish, was named a best book of 2018 by Kirkus, BuzzFeed, Lit Hub, and others; was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize; and has been translated into Spanish, Catalan, French, German, and Italian. Born in Moscow, she moved to the United States when she was three years old and currently lives in Los Angeles. Mother Doll (2024) is her second novel.
Brian Ramisch is a musician, visual artist, and body worker interested in how we embody the sounds with which we interact. He has performed in many ensembles for over 30 years, most recently playing devotional improvised music in the duo Abacus. His music is eclectic in nature, and he frequently plays homemade instruments along with guitar, percussion, singing bowls, synthesizers, tapes and electronics. He enjoys improvising as a practice of remaining mindful and open, engaging with each sound from moment to moment, creating an ephemeral manifestation of an idea as it is born, grows and changes, decays, and dies.
