McKenzie Wark is the author, among other things, of The Beach Beneath the Street (Verso), A Hacker Manifesto (Harvard) and Reverse Cowgirl (Semiotexte). Her correspondence with Kathy Acker was published as I'm Very Into You (Semiotexte). With madison moore she co-edited the "Black Rave" issue of eflux journal. Her new book Raving is published by Duke University Press.
madison moore is a Los Angeles-based DJ and interdisciplinary artist-scholar. He is the author of Fabulous: The Rise of the Beautiful Eccentric (Yale University Press) and is currently writing a new book called How to Go Clubbing that offers a travelogue through the iridescence of queer nightlife.
Kumi James (BAE BAE) is a Los Angeles based DJ, producer, organizer and multidisciplinary artist. As an LA native, she organizes innovative communal spaces including the notorious party, HOOD RAVE. BAE BAE is driven by her commitment to creating safer party spaces for black femmes and queer folks.
Michelle Lhooq is a music and drugs journalist, and author of WEED: Everything You Want to Know But Are Always Too Stoned to Ask (Penguin Random House). She writes a newsletter called Rave New World, and sometimes throws weed and shroom raves. Lhooq's work is centered on the themes of counterculture and autonomy—through the critical lens of underground parties, political protest, and drugs.
