DOPAZINE presents MAGGIE NELSON / THE SLICKS

A celebration of Taylor Swift, Sylvia Plath, and unbridled female ambition

When I think about Swift and Plath together, I find myself returning to a simple thought: Sylvia Plath is dead, and Taylor Swift is alive.

Join DOPAMINE Press for a celebration of our latest DOPAZINE publication, a limited-edition volume of Maggie Nelson’s unpublished essay The Slicks. An inspired treatise positioning culture-dominating pop superstar Taylor Swift and feminist cult icon Sylvia Plath as twin hosts of the female urge toward wanting hard, working hard, and pouring forth– and as twinned targets of patriarchy’s ancient urge to disparage such prolific, intimate output – The Slicks and its heroines will be celebrated with readings and performances by Alba Jones, Harry Dodge, Yasi Salek, Seth Bogart, and Maggie Nelson.

Books and friendship bracelets will be available.
