Conversation: Following Reading

The Poetic Research Bureau presents a reading and conversation with Charles Bernstein.

The philosopher-comic of contemporary verse, the père boo-boo of language poetry, late-stage roguish aphorist and pioneer of the punch-and-judyline, Bernstein has an incomparably wise wit among poets.

This rare in-person L.A. reading is followed by a conversation with Johanna Drucker in the PRB Archives and preceded by a book signing with Susan Bee and Johanna Drucker.

Susan Bee is a widely exhibited painter and book artist living in Brooklyn.

Johanna Drucker is a Los Angeles-based writer and artist known for her work in visible language, typography, design, and artists’ books.

Off-World Fairy Tales marks the third collaboration between painter Susan Bee and writer Johanna Drucker, following their Fabulas Feminae (Litmus Press, 2015) and A Girl’s Life (Granary Books, 2002)—a trilogy dedicated to hybrid language, pastiche images, and the feminist imagination.
