Please join the Poetic Research Bureau as we celebrate the launch of Toronto poet Amy Chin-Yan Lam’s debut book of poetry, Baby Book, followed by a conversation with Steve Kado. Joining Lam for the reading will be Los Angeles artist Kirby Chen Mages.

Amy Ching-Yan Lam is an artist and writer. Her debut collection of poetry is titled Baby Book (Brick Books, 2023). Other publications include Looty Goes to Heaven (Eastside Projects, 2022) commissioned for the Commonwealth Games public art program, and Property Journal (forthcoming 2024, Book Works). From 2006 to 2020 she was part of the collaboration Life of a Craphead. Amy lives in Tkaronto/Toronto and was born in Hong Kong. www.amylam.me
Kirby Chen Mages is a transdisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles.
Steve Kado is an artist, writer and musician born in North York. His public speaking events, installations, printed material and image work have been presented widely at such venues as Tate Britain, LA MOCA, The Wattis ICA, The Department of Safety, 8-11, Gambia Castle, REDCAT and the Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen. Since 2011 he has co-hosted the "Talking Show" with Nicolas G Miller on KCHUNG radio, a show devoted to talking in/as/for visual art. His writing has appeared in Artforum, Flash Art, C. He is the co-founder and co-director of LAWWSS (Los Angeles Wood Wind Skill Share).
